Local charities partner for Cavehill climb to mark Time to Talk Day
Join Inspire and Social Sunrise for a sunrise hike tomorrow
Inspire Wellbeing has joined with Sunrise Social People and will embark on a sunrise walk up Cavehill on Saturday 29 January to mark Time to Talk Day (Thursday 4 February).
The walk will be an opportunity for attendees to get into fresh air and meet with people and have open and honest conversations about their mental health.
Lisa McElherron, Head of Engagement at Inspire shared her excitement for the early morning alarm clock tomorrow morning.
“Everyone here at Inspire is delighted to be partnering up with the team at Sunrise Social, for their sunrise walk.
“Time to Talk Day is one important day in the year that we set aside to think about our mental health, talk to others about how they’re feeling and really reflect on our own mental health and well-being.
Time to Talk Day 2022 is run by Inspire and Change Your Mind in Northern Ireland delivered in partnership with Co-op. The partners are supporting communities across Northern Ireland to encourage mental health conversations by providing free resources, including tips on how to have the conversation, and running a UK-wide awareness campaign.
As part of Time to Talk Day 2022, Inspire will be releasing figures showing one in four UK adults surveyed (25%) who have experienced a worsening of their mental health for the first time during the pandemic, but encouragingly more people in Northern Ireland are reaching out for support and mental health services compared to the rest of the UK.
Lisa shares the plan for tomorrow’s event: “The team at Sunrise Social have lots of things planned on the day as we make our way to the top of Cave Hill. We’ll watch the sun come up over the city together and we’ll have some time just to reflect on how we’re all feeling about the impact of the last 18 months or so has had on us and our families.”
Anyone interested in joining, can attend at 7.30am at Cave Hill Car Park on Saturday 29th January.
