Emergency services attend collapsed wall in North Belfast

Search dogs, police and fire fighters are attending the scene of a collapsed building wall in north Belfast.

A section of the Antrim Road, between the Cavehill Road and the Limestone Road, was closed for several hours on Thursday while emergency services attended.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said an aerial appliance and a specialist rescue team were among responders.

Police have urged motorists to avoid the area.

Sinn Fein MLA Caral Ni Chuilin has urged the public to avoid the Antrim Road area if possible.

"Emergency services are currently dealing with a serious incident at the junction of Limestone Road/Cavehill Road since earlier this afternoon," she said.

"The area remains closed in efforts to stabilise surrounding premises.

"I would urge everyone to be patient with road closures, and avoid the area if possible as those on the ground responding to the building collapse."
