Coronavirus: NISRA records 66 Covid-19 deaths in the last week
The Number of Coronavirus related deaths in Northern Ireland has passed 1,000.
According to the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) the Covid death toll here now stands at 1,053.
It has recorded another 66 Covid related deaths which occurred in the last week, from October 24-30.
Of this total, 605 (57.5%) deaths took place in hospital, 375 (35.6%) in care homes, nine (0.9%) in hospices and 64 (6.1%) at residential addresses or other locations.
The 384 deaths which occurred in care homes and hospices involved 90 separate establishments.
The week ending October 30 saw the largest weekly number of Covid-19 related, hospital deaths (53) since mid-April; while the 10 Covid 19 related deaths occurring in a care home in the same week compares to totals last seen at the end of May.
The NISRA figures are based on the information entered on death certificates, completed by medical professionals.
They may or may not have previously tested positive for the virus.
However, the Department of Health’s figures are based on patients having previously tested positive for the virus.
The number of Covid Related deaths recorded by the DOH is 752, which is 301 less than NISRA’s.
Yesterday (Thursday) the daily dashboard showed a further 10 people died after contracting the virus.
However, two of those deaths were recorded outside of the current reporting period.
The current data showed 516 more people tested positive from 2,741 individual test.
While, 409 hospital inpatients have Covid-19 and 49 are in ICU.
Across the whole of the country 22 ICU beds remain free.
