Co Fermanagh security alert ends as 200 children evacuated from school
A security alert that caused 200 schoolchildren to be evacuated on Monday morning has ended.
A number of items were seized by police at the scene in the Lisnarick Road area of Irvinestown.
The nursery and primary school children were evacuated from nearby St Paul's.
PSNI Inspector Rory Hoy said: “When it comes to public safety we cannot take chances, and we would like to thank local people and the wider community in Irvinestown for their patience and understanding throughout the operation.
“A number of items have been seized by police following the search and taken away for further forensic examination.
“I would appeal for anyone with information about this incident to please contact us. It is only with your help that we can make our communities safer."
