A bomb has been found during a security alert in north Belfast on Friday.

Police were called to the scene at St James Mews just after midday after a suspicious object was discovered in the garden of a house.

Army technical officers declared it a "viable explosive device."

Detectives want to speak to anyone who was in the area on Thursday night or early yesterday morning and saw anything suspicious.
