4 Guaranteed Ways To Beat The Dreaded Signs Of A NI Hangover
By Janine Cobain
In Northern Ireland we’re known for having a good time and while we all know that drinking to excess is not big or clever, we also know that you don’t need to drink a lot to succumb to that dreaded morning after the night before
With the summer holidays, barbecue season and heatwaves looming, there’s a high chance we’re going to try a few summer cocktails or summery drinks that can be high in sugars and additives and….as a result….can make us feel a little groggy the next day.
Here are a few other tips to beating the signs you may be suffering:
Water it down
When you’re hungover, water is your best friend. We’ll assume it wasn’t one of the things you drank before you went to bed, so you need to re-hydrate your body to ease that pounding head and plump out the lines on your skin.
If you are looking very puffy and need to shift it quickly, you could take a tip from Kate Moss; fill the sink with iced water and cucumber and plunge in face first.
The eyes have it
Puffy, blood shot eyes are a dead giveaway of a heavy night.
To reduce swelling, place two tea bags which have been moistened with warm – not hot – water over your eyes and take five minutes to let them soothe you.
Use one of the range of eye drops available designed to soothe and whiten red eyes.
Plump it up
While the water you drink helps from the inside out, the skin will need feeding with a good moisturiser to plump it up and bring back your radiant glow.
And don’t forget about your lips; if the way your mouth feels is anything to go by they will need some extra TLC
Hideaway
Cover those dark circles with a good concealer, but maybe leave the foundation for today as your dried out skin won’t thank you for it.
Try a light BB cream, or highlighter instead, with a sweep or two of bronzer to lift your colour.
Hopefully, you’ll be able to make yourself presentable but remember; prevention is better than cure!
