The auditorium’s festive pantomime Peter Pan attracted an audience of more than 75,000 people from December 2-16 January.

The show was performed 74 times within the six-week stint at the theatre and saw Belfast Dame of panto May McFettridge return for her 28th year.

The cast also included Claire King, double Olivier award winning David Bedella and Britain’s Got Talent comedian Paul Burling.

Grand Opera House Chief Executive Ian Wilson said the theatre is already looking forward to this year’s panto season.

“As the curtain comes down on another pantomime season we are delighted that so many families and school parties enjoyed the annual Christmas extravaganza at the Grand Opera House,” he said.

“Audiences were treated to a remarkable show that carried the Grand Opera House’s panto hallmark of laugh out loud comedy, stunning sets and an amazing 3D underwater journey.

“More than 95% of seats filled with pantomime lovers has made Peter Pan one of the most successful Christmas shows in the UK and Ireland.”

The theatre welcomes Jack and the Beanstalk for 2018/19 with over 23,000 tickets sold already.

The show runs from Saturday December 1 2018 to Sunday January 13 2019.
