Afternoon Tea Week runs from the 14th August to the 20th August 2017 to celebrate the tradition that dates back to the 1840s when the seventh Duchess of Bedford complained of "having a sinking feeling" in the middle of the afternoon. The solution to this sinking feeling was pot a tea and a light snack. This soon became a regular snack and she began to invite friends over to enjoy it with her.
Afternoon tea has now become a popular treat adding to the massive 165 million cups of tea drunk each day.
If you love tea as much as we do, giving us that warm feeling and waking us up in the morning, then you'll probably be able to relate to these 10 reasons why we can't go a day without a cup of tea!
Of course, despite it being Afternoon Tea Week, we're well aware that there are plenty of people who don't like tea, so you'll continue your daily struggle trying to explain to people that you just don't like tea!
