As fans of The X Factor will know, last weekend was George Michael themed and acts had to sing some of the music icon's songs, however two acts didn't and fans aren't happy.

Fans of the show took to social media over the weekend after popular acts Grace Davies and The Cutkelvins both performed songs that weren't originally released by George Michael.

On Sunday night's show Grace became the second act to perform a song that wasn't originally by George Michael. She chose to perform Bonnie Raitt's 'I Can't Make You Love Me' which was covered by George.

While in the studio Simon said, she gave it a "real shot", her mentor Sharon Osbourne praised her for overcoming a "very hard week", online the reaction was very different with many saying 'this isn't even a George Michael song'.

On Saturday night sibling group The Cutkelvins, consisting of Jay, Shereen and Kyle Cutkelvin performed a mash-up of Seal's 'Killer' and The Temptations' 'Papa Was A Rolling Stone' to an enthusiastic crowd.

Reacting to the group's choice of song many people weren't happy asking why they were allowed to break the rule of not performing a song by George Michael.

One user said, 'George Michael has so many incredible songs...so why didn't the Cutkelvins sing one of them?!'

Going on to say the 'rules clearly don't apply to them'.

Another took to social media to vent his frustrations saying, '#XFactor why did the cutkelvins not do a #GeorgeMichael song? Disrespectful doing a cover when he gave so much'.

However it wasn't all bad as many fans still really enjoyed their performance saying, 'Catching up on X factor and watching the cutkelvins VT made me so emotional I love them even more 😩😭😭 #Xfactor'

The X Factor continues Saturday and Sunday on ITV.
