The Masked Singer is officially taking over our Saturday nights (and our lives) as we continuously try to figure out who is under the weight of the costumes.

As we gear up for another episode this Saturday night (22nd January 2022), fans think they’ve worked out who the elusive Doughnuts is.

Thanks to clues that they were ‘extra speedy’ and 'have never been the ‘lazy sort', many fans think Doughnuts must be a sportsperson. Many also believe that despite their entertaining performances, they are ‘definitely not a singer’.

One viewer is convinced that footballer Michael Owen is under the costume: ‘Doughnuts is definitely Michael Owen #TheMaskedSinger’.

Another said: ‘If Doughnuts isn't Michael Owen I'll be shocked. Just causally wrote "Golden Boot" on the food. They've disguised his voice and it still sounds like him. #TheMaskedSinger. (sic)’

One viewer suggested that it also could be fellow sportsman and pundit Chris Kamara: ‘TheMaskedSinger Doughnuts is 10000% Chris Kamara. He's a Capricorn, managed Stoke City, and was on Bake off.’

However, there have been more guesses as to Doughnuts’ identity, with some thinking that a foodie could be under there.

One fan wrote: ‘Doughnuts could be Gregg Wallace? #TheMaskedSinger, and another commented added: 'Doughnuts is 99.99% Gregg Wallace like #TheMaskedSinger.'

The clues do add up when it comes to MasterChef host Gregg, who famously found his love of exercise during the pandemic.

Bagpipes was revealed as Tennis player Pat Cash in the last episode of the popular ITV show, with Doughnuts, Mushroom, Firework, Panda, Poodle, Robobunny, Rockhopper and Traffic Cone still in the running.

The Masked Singer continues on Saturday 22nd January on ITV.

Check out all of the characters on The Masked Singer series:

Panda - WINNER

Panda was crowned the third winner of The Masked Singer, with 'Torn' singer Natalie Imbruglia being behind the mask.

Mushroom - SECOND PLACE

Mushroom made it all the way to final, but was pipped to victory by Panda. Turns out it was Welsh singer Charlotte Church behind the mask!

Robobunny - THIRD PLACE

Robobunny had us all guessing throughout the series, but it was Westlife singer Mark Feehily under the mask! The star finished in third place behind Mushroom and Panda.

Rockhopper

RUMBLED: Destiny's Child singer Michelle Williams shocked the judges when she revealed herself as Rockhopper during the double elimination on Saturday 5th February!

Chandelier

RUMBLED: Poor Chandelier was rumbled in the first episode of The Masked Singer, but no one guessed that it was soul singer Heather Small - who had voice coach sessions to help hide her incredibly recognisable voice.

Snow Leopard

RUMBLED: Snow Leopard was unveiled as Loose Women's Gloria Hunniford after belting out Shirley Bassey's hit Big Spender.
Judge Jonathan Ross was spot on with his guess, as he admitted he would "recognise that voice anywhere".

Lionfish

RUMBLED: Lionfish was the third celebrity to be unmasked, with Rita Ora and Jonathan Ross correct in their guess - Pop Idol star Will Young!

Bagpipes
