The Chase, one of the nation's favourite late-afternoon quiz shows, which brings drama, excitement, and down right humour with show host Bradley Walsh, is loved by many across the nation.

Whilst the quiz shows never falls to make us laugh (who can forget that Fanny Chmelar moment), viewers get a rush of joy when they see contestants beat the famous Chasers to win a cash prize.

And whether the contestants go for the higher prize or the lower option, Twitter often erupts every evening over the show. But have you ever thought about being a contestant yourself?

Well, if you have, you should probably consider applying now, as The Chase star Shaun Wallace has revealed there is a waiting list of up to THREE YEARS! 😱

Shaun, who is known as the Dark Destroyer, recently took over the AV system on a flight between Wellington and Queenstown, where he revealed some of the show's secrets.

The video, which was posted on Facebook by Believe It Or Not Quiz Nights, shows Shaun quizzing the passengers on the plane in a The Chase style competition.

Meanwhile, The Chase host Bradley Walsh was left stunned in January, when two contestants made history.

Bradley was gobsmacked as contestants Michael and Ross both answered 10 questions correctly on the Cash Builder round, winning £10,000 each for the team.

Once the pair had won the rounds one after the other, host Bradley was left completely dumbfounded, tripping over his words as he said, "I don't remember that happening - ever! First two out of the traps, 10 each."

After Michael, Ross and their teammate Joel were able to all stay in the final round and beat Paul Sinha AKA The Sinnerman, winning a whopping £25,000 between them.

The Chase continues every weekday on ITV.
