It's inevitable that contestants taking part in Strictly Come Dancing will sustain SOME minor injuries - but it's normally after they've been in the show for a few weeks. HOWEVER, this year, one of the Strictly stars has revealed that they've ALREADY hurt themselves during rehearsals... And the show hasn't even started yet!

Unfortunately for Red Dwarf actor Danny John-Jules, he's the first contestant to injure himself so far this series, which is due to begin this Saturday (22nd Sept) after the launch night on 8th Sept saw the celebrity participants matched up with their professional partners.

Danny admitted to the injury in an interview with the Mirror, revealing that they'd had to pause the rehearsals after a full day of practising ended with Danny suffering from swollen feet.

The 58-year-old said, "Mother Nature’s having a bit of a dig at me. I had to bandage my toes," whilst his partner Amy added they'd had to stop the foxtrot rehearsal after noticing that Danny was "hobbling" around the studio. "I was telling him he needed to put his feet up," she said.
