This year's series of Strictly Come Dancing kicked off last weekend at the launch show where we discovered which professional dancers this year's 15 celebrities would be paired up with. Strictly Come Dancing also saw lauded performances from Nile Rodgers and Chic, Craig David and Stefflon Don.

But Red Dwarf actor Danny John-Jules, who was paired up with Amy Dowden, has now revealed in an interview on Good Morning Britain that there'll be DIRE consequences for him if he doesn't return home victorious.

Speaking to hosts Ben Shephard and Charlotte Hawkins, Danny revealed that his family and friends have joked that he will not be welcome home if he doesn't win.

He said, "It all starts next week and I’ve been told in my manor not to return if I embarrass them. I won’t be able to go to the barber shop. Watching them impersonate me is funny."

He also spoke out about what he thought his chances on the show were, saying, "I’m the oldest person in the show! As you can imagine, being the oldest one in the show, my legs are like lead.

"People say, ‘You look so fit’. But it’s the difference between kicking around a football in the garden with your son and playing a celebrity football match, and everyone always gets injured in those."

Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC1 on Saturday 22nd September. Here's everything you need to know about this year's series.
