Fans angry as Marriage At First Sight contestant jilts bride before he’s seen her

OK so let’s start this by saying normally that if you have cold feet about a wedding it’s best you say so before everyone turns up on the day but Married At First Sight is far from ‘normal’. The show features couples who have never met but have been matched by a team of experts (there’s even DNA taken) with the hope that they’ll be compatible.
The third series launched on Channel 4 last night but viewers were outraged when Insurance Broker Wayne got cold feet. He was due to wed Carrie, who had turned up to meet Cynthia the registrar and expressed her intention to wed, however when it was Wayne’s turn he couldn’t go through with it. He said, “I have had to think long and hard about this but I’m really sorry to say I won’t be declaring my intention today."
Cynthia told him that “if there's any doubt it shouldn't happen” but wanted to know if he was concerned how Carrie would feel.
Seemingly unconcerned (although to be fair he’d never even laid eyes on a picture of her) he replied, “I’d feel awful for her, I really would, but the other side is I don't want to marry someone if I’m not entirely comfortable with the situation, so I’d hope she would appreciate that."
