He picked her in last night's recoupling

The family of Love Island's Anton Danyluk have defended his actions, after he chose to save and couple up with Lucie Donlan, over Arabella Chi, in last night's (Monday) recoupling.

The 24-year-old, who has been single for most of his time in the villa, had the hard decision to decide which friend to couple up with as, if he didn't choose Yewande Biala, this left her at HUGE risk of being dumped from the island.

Taking to Anton's official Twitter account, his family member wrote, 'Guys, I really don't think it's fair to say that Yewande's elimination was down to Anton'.

'He's been very close friend with Lucie throughout his time in the villa and she made it clear to him that she wishes to stay. We're gutted that Yewande is no longer in the villa'.

Another tweet was then published, saying, 'We love you @yewande_biala'.

Fans were quick to help Anton's family defend his decision, with one user writing, 'Anton had to pick before Danny so how could it possibly be Anton’s fault?! He couldn’t pick Yewande when Danny was still to pick! Honestly some people on social media are completely ridiculous' whilst another wrote, 'totally not antons fault !!! he chose the right person. it wasn't his decision to make anyways it was dannys'. sic.

However, some believe he should of picked Yewande, with one individual tweeting, 'LUCIE HAS A MAN WAITING FOR HER OUTSIDE THE VILLA. After all the shy Yewande has been through in the house she really deserved to find love in the villa'.

It's obviously a very divided topic but it will be interesting to see how the recoupling plays out in tonight's show!
