Strictly Come Dancing viewers have been left terrified after Kevin Clifton sparked rumours he could be quitting the show after five years. The 36-year-old, who is currently partnered with journalist Stacey Dooley this series, recently split from his wife and fellow Strictly Come Dancing professional Karen Clifton.

Although 'Kevin from Grimsby' is a fan-favourite on the show, Strictly fans have been left panicking over his place on the show after last night's appearance on Strictly's sister show, It Takes Two (21st Nov).

In a special clip on the show, fans took a trip down memory lane with Kevin, who was the subject of a 'best bits' segment. It looked back through his time on the show through his partnerships with Susanna Reid, Frankie Bridge, Kellie Bright, Louise Redknapp and Susan Calman.

It also touched on the fact that Kevin has been in the final four times - but hasn't yet won the coveted Glitterball trophy. After the video clip, Kevin said, "We all would love to win the Glitterball, but at the end of the day it's just about bringing joy and entertainment and fun.

"I'm ridiculously proud to be a part of Strictly, often I think like this is my job, it's something I'll be incredibly grateful for."

Fans were unnerved by the seemingly-random segment, taking to Twitter for clarification. One wrote, 'Uh oh, Kevin's CV is being shown. Does this mean he's leaving?' as another added, 'I've come in half way through this feature. Has Kevin died or something...? (I hope not obvs).' sic

Although Kevin hasn't addressed the rumours he's leaving, he has taken to Twitter to respond to some of his fans who enjoyed the segment. Despite admitting he hasn't had 'chance to see it yet', he thanked many who had left his supportive messages about the segment.

Strictly Come Dancing continues this Saturday on BBC One at 6.50pm.
