Katy Perry is currently part of the judging panel on American Idol and earlier this week we saw her falling over during an audition! Now she's raised eyebrows after she kissed a contestant who said he would only kiss someone if he was in a relationship.
Appearing in front of the American Idol judging panel of Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, 19-year-old electrical shop worker Benjamin Glaze, revealed how he had never kissed a girl.
On hearing this Katy called Benjamin over to the desk where she leaned over and gestured for him to give her a kiss on the cheek. Benjamin leaned over to give her a peck on the cheek, but the pop star then complained, "You didn't even make the smooch sound!"
When he went in for another kiss on the cheek Katy quickly turned her head! Embarrassed, Benjamin found himself kissing the pop star on the lips, so shocked by what had happened he fell on the floor with his guitar.

Trying to regain his composure Benjamin returned to perform his version of Nick Jonas' 'Levels', however unfortunately it didn't go too well for him.
After he had finished Katy told him, "Truthfully, there are just some people who are out-singing you right now. I don't think it'd be fair to put you in that kind of competition.
"Next time, take a little bit more time. You were a little bit rushed. Maybe that's because I sped up the BPM of your heartbeat."

With Cheryl Tweedy, Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding, Kimberley Walsh and Nadine Coyle all winning a place in the band, the group went on to achieve their debut number one with the track 'Sound Of The Underground'.
Girls Aloud went on to achieve massive success in the UK and scored a record 20 consecutive top 10 singles in the UK Charts.
In 2013 the band announced their split after their final UK tour.

In 2017 Camilla Cabello announced she had left the band to focus on her solo caree, and in March 2018 the group revealed they were going on a hiatus.
Christina Aguilera
Christina Aguilera appeared on Star Search as a youngster back in 1990.
It wasn't until 1999 when the singer really made waves in the music industry with hits including 'Genie In The Bottle' and 'What A Girl Wants'.
Throughout the noughties Christina had some massive hits such as 'Dirrty', 'Beautiful' and 'Hurt' and later went on to star in a number of movies such as Burlesque.
The singer now has five Grammy Awards, has sold over 50 million albums worldwide and appears on The Voice as a mentor.
Jordin Sparks
Jordin Sparks became American Idol's youngest ever winner when she won over competition at the age of just 17 in 2006.
The singer has since enjoyed massive success with her hits including 'Tattoo', 'Battlefield' and her 'No Air' debut with Chris Brown.

She enjoyed massive success in The Pussycat Dolls but before that Nicole Scherzinger appeared on Popstars in 2001.
It was her time in girl band The Pussycat Dolls which really started her success. The band became one of the world's biggest selling girl bands with hits such as 'Don't Cha' and 'Jai Ho'.
Nicole later left the band and has enjoyed a solo career. The singer is also a judge on The X Factor, although rumours are suggesting she won't be returning for the 2018 series.

After shocking audiences and the judging panel with her incredible rendition of 'I Dreamed A Dream', Susan went on to finish in second place behind Diversity.

Since the episode was aired earlier this week Benjamin has spoken out about his first kiss. While many reports have said that he wasn't happy about the situation, he has now taken to Instagram to explain exactly how he feels.
Posting a photo from American Idol, Benjamin said 'I am not complaining about the kiss from Katy Perry at all, doing a few news reports and being interviewed by many different reporters has caused some major questions.'
He continued to explain how he was not complaining about the kiss saying, 'I am very honored and thankful to have been apart of American Idol.' sic
He then explained how he should have 'Picked another song to sing' and calmed himself down regardless of the kiss.
As well as the kiss, the current series of American Idol has been quite eventful. Earlier this week we also saw Katy Perry join one of the hopefuls as she danced in the studio. Wearing black stiletto heels Katy tried to twist as she danced, but fell on the floor. However Katy being Katy, didn't seem too embarrassed by the whole situation and managed to 'style' her way of out of it with the help of her fellow judges.
