Jayne Torvill breaks silence on Jason Gardiner's Dancing On Ice exit
She was at the TV Choice Awards
Following the announcement earlier this year, that Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner was to leave the popular TV show, head judge Jayne Torvill has now broken her silence on the matter.
Speaking at the TV Choice Awards on Monday night, Jayne told press, "I think we will miss Jason and his combination of comments, his straight forward comments. Last year, for us it's still quite new, with Jason and Ashley Banjo and ourselves, it all worked out really well."
The ice-skater continued, "Now we have a new member but I think it will be fun. John is a funny guy with loads of energy."
Earlier this month, John Barrowman was confirmed as the replacement judge on Dancing On Ice, with the I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here star telling his fans on Instagram, "Hey everybody, it's John Barrowman here and I've got something super exciting to announce to you. I'm gonna be on Dancing On Ice! Woo! I'm gonna be a judge on the 2020 series of Dancing On Ice."
John previously appeared on Dancing On Ice as a contestant way back in 2006, during the first series of the show before its hiatus.
Jayne was at the TV Choice Awards on Monday night, where Dancing On Ice was nominated for Best Talent Show, up against The Great British Bake Off, and Strictly Come Dancing, losing out on the night to Britain's Got Talent.
