Statement released over Jack Maynard's I'm A Celebrity exit

Popular YouTube star Jack Maynard left I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here yesterday after just two days on the show, following a number of stories that he'd sent racist and homophobic tweets a number of years ago.
The Vlogger's team made the decision to remove Jack from the Australian jungle so he has the opportunity to defend his actions.
With the 22-year-old already flying out of Australia, Jack's PR team have now released a statement about his exit.
The statement reads:
"In the last few days Jack has been the subject of a succession of media stories which, given his position as a contestant on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here - filmed in the Australian jungle, with no contact with the outside world, he has been unable to respond to.
"Since it is only fair that everyone should be aware of any allegations made against them and should also have the right to defend themselves, it was agreed that it would be better to bring him out of the show. Jack agrees with this decision which was made by his representatives and ITV and thanks everyone who has supported him in the show this far."
Show hosts Ant and Dec first announced the news about Jack's exit during last night's episode on ITV. Confirming viewers wouldn't be able to vote for the Vlogger in the latest trial, the pair said, "Due to circumstances outside camp Jack has had to withdraw from the show."
Jack has a massive online following and a very popular YouTube page which has over 1 million followers. He is also the younger brother of pop star Conor Maynard who is mostly known for his 2012 hit 'Turn Around' and his cover songs.
Meanwhile in other I'm A Celebrity news, Amir Khan conquered his creepy crawlies fears to win last night's gruesome trial. Following his failed attempt on Monday night, the champion boxer was adamant to win his camp mates food.
On tonight's show, viewers will see the first eating trial of the new series when Made In Chelsea star Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo and Rebekah Vardy try and win stars for the camp.
I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here is on ITV at 9pm.
