It seems like all the soaps recently have been plagued by one person in particular who's gone around slaughtering innocent residents - we're looking at you, Pat Phelan. For Emmerdale, it's of course Lachlan White - the murderous teen who's killed two (potentially three) of his own family members AND one of his best pals in the past year alone.

And after taking his aunt Rebecca White hostage and chaining her up in some horrid cottage, it seemed as though he'd done her in as well - that is, until one of the show bosses dropped something of a clanger and revealed she might not be dead after all.

But according to soap spoilers (who doesn't love a good spoiler, eh?), Lachlan is FINALLY going to get his comeuppance.

After escaping a suspicious Priya Sharma, who shopped him to the police after becoming convinced he was a murderer (well, she's not wrong is she?!), Lachlan may have thought he was in the clear.

Coronation Street stars Sally Carman and Joe Duttine are reportedly dating after a string of 'secret dates'. After attending Corrie's summer party together in July, reports suggest the couple are very happy together.

However, it turns out that in tonight's episode (31st August), a major development is going to take place - and although we can't say what, we do know that poor Sam Dingle will catch him in the middle of doing something DREADFUL.

His girlfriend Belle Dingle will also find the blood-soaked jacket, leading Lachlan to realise that he can't lie his way out of this one. As he confesses to what he's done, Belle tries to escape - but Lachlan grabs her, and a gun goes off.

So what happens to Sam? What's the development? Does Belle KILL Lachlan?!

Emmerdale airs tonight on ITV at 7pm.
