Emmerdale star Gemma Atkinson appeared on entertainment show Lorraine this morning to tease fans about her character's exit in the soap.

Gemma appeared on the show alongside her co-star Mark Charnock, who plays Marlon Dingle, and teased fans about her character Carly Hope's upcoming story lines.

On last night's episode, viewers witnessed Carly freeze when Marlon's daughter April started to choke on a sweet.

After Marlon stepped in to save his daughter, memories came flooding back for Carley after previously losing her baby Billy to cot death.

Speaking on Lorraine about the scene, Gemma said, "It’s terrifying even when we filmed it, it was horrible to watch."

Gemma also teased fans about whether or not her character is set to leave the soap. When asked the question by Lorraine, Gemma added, "She’s one of those people that instead of facing a problem, she just runs from them."

“We’re dying for Marlon to say come back and we’ll make it work."
