As viewers of the show will know, James dislocated his shoulder in rehearsals just days before the final, with some concerns that he'd have to pull out of the competition.
However, after admitting he thought he'd have to quit the show as he 'couldn't lift' his arm, the Dancing On Ice physio worked her magic, meaning James was able to get through the final.
Despite this, James has now admitted he will need surgery to fix his shoulder properly, to avoid any long term damage.
Meanwhile, after beating Wes Nelson and Saara Aalto in Sunday night's final, James took to his social media accounts to thank fans for their votes.
He wrote, 'THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!! I can’t even begin to tell you how much last night meant to myself and @alex_lukasz. To win @dancingonice has been one of the highlights of my life. I’m actually for once very proud of myself. The biggest win for me was all the support we have received throughout the show. Without your support and votes it would not have been possible, so I thank you again. The whole DOI team were amazing.
James then added, 'Also the support from the pros and celebs was totally overwhelming 😢.What an amazing experience, made even better because of my pro @alex_lukasz who is a superstar! I now need to rest my body a bit and now support @olajordan in her judging adventures on Dancing With The Stars in Poland. The only downside of the show was I hardly saw Ola'. sic
