Coronation Street fans left angry after soap reveal major death spoiler on Twitter

Overnight the official Twitter account for Coronation Street has revealed a major death without warning and fans are struggling to cope with this shock news.
WARNING SPOILERS!
The tweet posted overnight read, 'EXCLUSIVE PICS: A devastated Sarah finally accepts the news of Gary's death, Luke confronts Rana and things get worse for Robert. 💔'
It immediately attracted hundreds of tweets with comments such as 'Omg biggest spoiler ever 😬😩' continuing, 'honestly! I'm so annoyed they've just ruined it for us 👋🏼😕'
Another said,
'Corrie, please. You've posted this a bit too early, spoilers hurt. 😥'
Another said he was 'fuming'
Whilst another fan wrote, 'He doesn’t till next week they’ve literally just ruined it for everyone, He won’t die in your recordings so no worries'.
A number of fans also thought they might have some how missed an episode with Coronation Street revealing this huge spoiler, however that doesn't seem to be the case.
In the same tweet revealing Gary's death ITV also linked to a page with a number of preview photos from an upcoming episode. The photos show various characters' reactions to the news of Gary's death.
Rumours had been rife in recent weeks that Gary might be about to be killed off, while working in Ukraine after being caught up in a terrorist bombing, however nothing had been confirmed.
Coronation Street have yet to comment on their spoiler reveal, but have recently tweeted a short clip from tonight's programme with Mary looking after baby George in the flower shop.
In September Coronation Street started showing a sixth weekly episode and the Coronation Street studios have been expanded to allow for more exterior filming. Viewers of the popular soap should expect to see the new 'wider Weatherfield' in spring next year.
Coronation Street continues with double episodes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
