Peter Barlow is having a rough couple of months in Coronation Street - he found out his girlfriend, Toyah Battersby, had lied about the fact that their surrogate had given birth to their baby, instead passing off Eva Price's baby as her own. Of course, the terrible plan all fell to pieces, and Eva reclaimed baby Susie - leaving Peter and Toyah's relationship in tatters as a result of her unforgivable lie.

Now, the pair have unsurprisingly decided to split, with Peter feeling he has no choice but to put his beloved Rovers Return up for sale. But who will be taking over the pub?

Corrie fans have been wondering whether Henry Newton would snap it up on his return to Weatherfield as a gift for Gemma Winter to prove his love and apologise for his past wrongdoings.

But show bosses have rubbished that rumour, revealing that it will actually be Johnny Connor and Jenny Bradley who will win their names above the door, according to Metro.co.uk.

Did you know these soap stars actually dated in real life?

The publication report that bosses at the soap, now helmed by Iain Macleod after the departure of Kate Oates, are trying to make the Connors be seen as the "new family on the block," and hope that they could be "as big as the Barlows."

Apparently, the family have got some "big storylines" coming up and that the first step will be taking over the pub, adding that it was the last place Johnny saw his son Aidan before his tragic suicide, "so when he hears it’s up for grabs he swoops in and takes control."

Johnny is currently embroiled in a custody battle with Eva Price for baby Susie, whose father is his late son Aidan, in a storyline that will see the exit of Eva, played by Catherine Tyldesley who had her last day on the ITV set last week.
