Coronation Street's Bill Roache is not only the soap's longest-serving cast member - he also holds the Guinness World Record for the longest-serving male television star in a continuous role. EVER.

But it seems that Bill, who has played Ken Barlow on the soap since its first episode on 9th December 1960, isn't content with just holding one World Record - he's set his sights on yet another.

The soap veteran, who celebrated his 86th birthday in April this year, revealed on Lorraine this morning that he's got a brand new goal in mind.

He said, "I’ve been in it for 58 years. I’m in the Guinness Book of Records. I’ve got the MBE for services to television.

"My goal now is to be the first centenarian still working in a serial," he admitted. "I think they want me as well. I’m very lucky to have the job. I really appreciate the job and I love it very much."

Well... Only 14 years to go!

Bill also dropped a hint about Ken's future on the show, revealing it was all down to new show producer Iain Macleod, "The new producer will have his view on where my storyline goes and we’ll have a chat."

The Corrie star later opened up about his love of meditation, saying, "That being in the heart, the head is just a computer, if you let that run you, it all wants the detail. Give yourself a tea break from life. You can leave those things for 10 minutes a day."

Such wise words!

Coronation Street continues Monday 16th at 7.30pm on ITV.
