With the 2022 series of Dancing On Ice turning out to be one of the most competitive series in history, the competition is certainly heating up with the likes of Brendan Cole, Kimberley Wyatt and Regan Gascoigne all hoping to be crowned the 2022 winner.

On last night's show, which saw Coronation Street actress Sally Dynevor lose her place in the competition, The Vamps star Connor Ball had a horrific fall which resulted in him needing stiches.

Performing to George Ezra's popular track 'Paradise', Connor was dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow as he performed alongside Alexandra Schauman, but half way through the routine, the pair hit the floor.

The true professional that he is, Connor got back up and continued with his routine, despite clearly being in pain after Alexandra's blade sliced his lower leg.

Following his performance, host Phillip Schofield asked the 25-year-old how he was, where he responded saying: “I don’t want to look what’s going on there right now… I’ll check after. The blade went into my leg, so I don’t know if something’s cut up.”

After making it through to the next round, Connor later took to his social media to update fans on his brutal injury, sharing a graphic picture whilst getting stitches.

He wrote: 'What a crazy night, i really did get too much into the whole pirate thing. thank you for all the messages i really appreciate it, im absolutely gutted about the routine but so grateful you guys still went absolutely mad and voted me through i can’t thank you enough!!

'Once again an accident that never happened in training at all which makes it all the worse for me but gonna put it in the past and get back to training asap!! a huge thank you to the whole team for putting me back together as always and supporting through everything, it really means a lot. much love. x' (sic)

Connor's Dancing On Ice co-stars were quick to comment on the post. Pussycat Dolls star Kimberley Wyatt wrote: 'Wow!!!!!! To sustain an injury that bad and keep going the way you did!!! you have the heart of a lion! ❤️🙌❤️ Fall or not it was an epic performance mate 👏❤️'. (sic)

Ria Hebden then wrote: 'Oh mate! You were amazing and should be so proud. Rest up xx 🙌'. (sic)

Pro partner Alexandra also commented: 'You are such a trooper and keep impressing me with sooo much progress & skills every week 🤩🤩🤩🤩🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️'. (sic)

Despite the fall, Connor received great praise for the judges, gaining a score of 34 out of 40 from the judges.
