The 10 stages of dealing with the end of your favourite TV show

We all know the struggle!

You know the feeling you get when your favourite programme ends for a season. It starts with the elated 'That was amazing!' to the comedown when you think 'How can they top that? What do I do now?'

You might find yourself acting like this:

1) The countdown to next season is on

This is okay. I can deal with this. Only nine months to go…

2) You start to search for hidden meanings…

You find that you’re reading every single article about the show and have started to search for hidden clues.

3) You start trying to second guess what’s going to happen next from real world clues

Jon Snow has long hair… what does this mean Jon Snow… WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?!

Woman surrounded by question marks

4) You talk about the show ALL THE TIME

It’s not real, you know that, but it’s SO relevant to every conversation.

5) You try and convince everyone else to watch it, just so you have someone to talk to about it

“Have you watched it yet?”

“No.”

“Okay, I’ll ring back in an hour.”

“Stop calling me.”

Man on the phone

6) What did you do before in your spare time before your favourite show?

Erm... Absolutely no idea.

7) You keep trying to recreate the sheer joy you got with every new episode, but nothing quite fills the void

“Happy birthday? What’s the point…You can go… Leave the cake.”

Woman unhappy on her birthday

8) Life starts to feel uncertain

What if it has been cancelled? What if it moves to a channel I don’t have?! WHAT WILL I DO?!

9) In desperation you try and watch another show

It’s just not the same. It doesn’t make you feel the same way. You couldn’t care less about these characters. Urgh.

10) There’s no other option. Time to start rewatching it from season one

Nothing else fulfills me; I’ll just keep looping until next season.
