The comedy-pop song goes viral online

A novelty record by Norwegian comedy duo Ylvis is being touted as the new ‘Gangnam Style’ after going viral online.

Entitled ‘The Fox’, the completely bonkers song sees Vegard and Bård Ylvisåker imitate a variety of animal noises from elephants to sheep and dogs.

However, they hit a stumbling block when they speculate the noise of a fox and come up with madcap suggestions like "gering-ding-ding-ding-dingeringeding!", “wa-po-po-po-po-po-pow” and "fraka-kaka-kaka-kaka-kow!"

Since the equally crazy video was uploaded to YouTube a week ago it has already amassed over 17million views.

Highlights include a granddad singing fox noises from a book to a small child, a strobe-riddled rave in the woods and lots of incredible animal costumes. Check it out below!

Although a tongue-in-cheek tune, ‘The Fox’ was produced by Norwegian production powerhouses Stargate who count Rihanna’s ‘Diamonds’, Katy Perry’s ‘Firework’ and Jennifer Lopez’s ‘I’m Into You’ amongst their many production credits.

At present there’s no UK release date for ‘The Fox’ but we wouldn’t bet against a gargantuan hit for the duo.
