Portaferry singer-songwriter Ryan McMullan announced today that he is postponing the release of his new album.
Ryan has toured worldwide with some of the most well known artists such as Ed Sheeran, Snow Patrol, Kodaline and Foy Vance.
In a post shared on social media, Ryan thanked fans for their continued support as he 'signed off for a little while.'
He wrote: "Hey everyone, firstly, I want to say a huge thank you for all your love and support messages this past week. It's really meant a lot and I appreciate you all for understanding and sticking by me,
"After speaking with my team, we have decided to delay the release of the album until 2023.
"This was an incredible difficult decision to make, but with having spent a lot of time, money and effort on the project, we want it to have the best and most deserving release it can, with shows and performances to welcome it into the world.
"Thank you again for your understanding and patience. Signing off for a little while, Ryan X."
Just a few weeks ago Ryan broke the news he was cancelling his upcoming tour due to his mental health, which included dates in the Republic, UK, US, Canada, Europe and Australia.
Ryan shared a heartfelt message on socials reading: "Dear The Best Fans In The World,
"It is with the heaviest of hearts that, with the exception to the Belfast show and the Derry show, I have decided to cancel the Redesign Tour.
"I’m heartbroken to have to do this, especially with the release of my debut album, but the truth is I’ve been struggling a lot lately with mental health, and after speaking to professionals and my incredibly supportive team, I have decided that the best thing for me to do right now is to take a step back from touring.”
"Your support over these past years has been so incredible. You deserve nothing short of me at my very best and to do this tour right now would be less than that.
"The album is still on Schedule to be released August 26th. Please pre save or pre order it if you haven’t yet so that when I’m feeling healthier, we can all sing it together in a city near you.
"Thank you for being here."
Ryan will be closing CHSq 2022 this weekend before saying goodbye for a little while. If you'd like to see Ryan in Belfast, there's still limited tickets available via ticketmaster.ie
