Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' is Most Downloaded Song Ever

Adele's 'Someone Like You' is a very close second

Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’ has been named the most downloaded song in UK chart history.

Since its release 13 months ago, the gargantuan T.I. and Pharrell Williams collaboration has been downloaded an incredible 1.54million times in Britain alone.

Speaking to Official Charts, Robin Thicke enthused: “I’m so honoured, the success of Blurred Lines is a dream come true.”

Adele’s emotionally rousing 2011 anthem ‘Someone Like You’ is close behind in second spot with 1.53million downloads.

‘Someone Like You’ and ‘Blurred Lines’ are the only two tracks to smash the 1.5million downloads barrier, however a total have 27 tracks have now surpassed the 1million landmark.

The all-time top 5 is completed by Maroon 5’s ‘Moves Like Jagger’ from June 2011, Gotye’s 2011 anthem ‘Somebody That I Used Know’ and Black Eyed Peas’ ‘I Gotta Feeling’ from 2009.

Official Charts Company chief executive Martin Talbot added, “Blurred Lines is surely one of the catchiest pop hits of all time, so its success is no great surprise.

“But to become one of only two tracks to have been downloaded 1.5m times – and climb to the top of the poll as the biggest download of all time - is an incredible achievement.”
