One Direction's 'This Is Us' Tops UK & Ireland Box Office

It rakes in almost £3.5million in less than a week

One Direction’s 3D movie ‘This Is Us’ has stormed straight in at number one on the UK & Ireland box office.

Since hitting the silver screen last Thursday, the Morgan Spurlock directed film has raked in an impressive £3.47million in the UK and Ireland.

The takings dwarf the Matt Damon science fiction thriller Elysium in second spot (£1.2million) and the week’s second highest new release, Mark Wahlberg’s Pain and Gain (£1million).

‘This Is Us’ also topped the US weekend box office with takings of $17million (£10.9million). It’s now estimated to have made over £20million worldwide in less than a week.
