Sheeran-fever spread across the internet earlier today as Ed Sheeran announced a brand new tour, the '2018 UK Stadium Tour', however the multi-award winning singer is making efforts to combat ticket touts ahead of the release of the tickets.

Along with the list of confirmed dates his official website states, 'You are required to bring your tickets, booking confirmation and credit card, plus a form of ID or you may not be granted entry to the show. Your ticket is not valid if resold unless it’s through our official face-value resale partner Twickets'.

This is in response to tickets for Ed's tour changing hands for hundreds or even thousands of pounds earlier in the year. Understandably fans and Ed himself weren't too happy about it at the time and asked fans not to buy tickets at the severely inflated prices.

There will be no presales for this tour, so make sure you visit Aloud.com on Saturday the 8th July for your chance to buy tickets for the following dates.

MAY 2018

  • Belfast Boucher Playing Fields – Wed 9th
  • Manchester Etihad Stadium – Thu 24th

JUNE 2018

  • Glasgow Hampden Park – Fri 1st
  • Newcastle St James’ Park – Fri 8th
  • London Wembley Stadium – Fri 15th
  • London Wembley Stadium – Sat 16th
  • Cardiff Principality Stadium – Fri 22nd

Tickets for the Belfast date will go on sale at 9am, whereas as the other UK dates will be available from 10am on the 8th July.

Since announcing the dates Ed tweeted, 'That's not the end of the stadium tour, watch this space x', hinting at the possibility of more dates. Watch this space!

On Sunday night Ed wowed fans at Glastonbury as he headlined the Pyramid Stage with just his guitar and a loop pedal. He later took to Twitter to confirm that he didn't have a backing track as some had previously thought.

Earlier this year here at Cool FM we were lucky enough to be treated to an acoustic session with Ed Sheeran, here are a couple of videos from his visit.

Here he is performing 'Shape of You' using just a loop pedal:

He also performed a song made famous by Justin Bieber, but actually written by Ed himself, 'Love Yourself':

As well as 'Love Yourself' Ed has written a number of other songs for other artists, here are just a few.

Tickets for Ed Sheeran's '2018 UK Stadium Tour' will go on sale on the 8th July at 10am (except for the Belfast show which will go on sale at 9am on the same day).
