Mariah Carey Compares Nicki Minaj To Satan
She says it was "hell" working on American Idol with Minaj
Mariah Carey has added fuel to her fiery feud with Nicki Minaj by comparing the ‘Beez In The Trap’ singer to Lucifer himself.
The pair had a very public falling out when they worked together on the judging panel of American Idol last year.
In one infamous argument at the auditions, which was captured by the TV cameras, Minaj blew her top aiming a sweary tirade at her fellow judge. Unsurprisingly, both singers quit the show after one season.
Reflecting on her time on the show, Mariah explained to Hot 97 that when she signed up she didn’t expect Minaj to be on the panel.
"Honestly, I hated it," she said. "'I thought it was going to be a 3-person panel, but it wasn't that. It was like going to work every day in Hell with Satan."
Realising that she’d made a newsworth soundbite, Mariah tried to backpedal, adding: "I'm just playing! It didn't affect me that much. I was disappointed."
"I loved the contestants and some of them were so good, and also really good people, and it was disappointing when they would - for political reasons - not put people through. And I'm like 'I do not have to sit here and do this!'"
Due to air in January 2014, the 13th season of American Idol is judged by Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban.
