Lady Gaga Showcases 'ARTPOP' At iTunes Festival

She wows on the opening night of the festival

Lady Gaga opened the iTunes Festival in style last night showcasing seven previously unheard tracks from her upcoming album ‘ARTPOP’.

Mother Monster’s rapturously received one-hour set at The Roundhouse in Camden, North London consisted solely of new tracks from her third record including current smash ‘Applause’.

Rave-tastic opener ‘Aura’ saw a black-haired Gaga get hoisted onto the stage in a medieval torture cage before she blitzed through the earworm of a track.

She beckoned to the crowd at the end: "What's up, London? Do you have to scream so loud? I can barely hear myself."

Shortly before dispatching the new firm fan favourite ‘MANiCURE’, Gaga told the sell-out crowd: "To say I've missed you is an understatement. When I'm away from you, I can't live."

Switching to her mermaid outfit and giant wig Gaga then instigated a crowd sing-along on album title track ‘ARTPOP’.

Embracing the electro-pop ethos of her previous chart smashes, ‘Jewels & Drugs’ and ‘Sex Dreams’ provided huge set zeniths while piano ballad ‘I Wanna Be With You’ similarly impressed.

The most poignant part of the evening came before ‘Swine’ when Gaga admitted she had gone through some “tough times” and used her various guises to “cover up the pain.”

Removing her massive wig to reveal her natural brunette bob, Gaga told the audience: "So here I am, the human underneath the wigs.”

Unsurprisingly, encore ‘Applause’ got the biggest response of the night with Gaga performing in a mad hatter outfit.

‘ARTPOP’ is released on 11th November 2013 and ‘Applause’ is available to download right now.
