Lady Gaga "So Happy" After Storming To No.1 with 'ARTPOP'
Mother Monster's third consecutive chart-topper
Lady Gaga has thanked her British Little Monsters after storming to no.1 with âARTPOPâ.
Boasting the singles âApplauseâ and âDo What U Wantâ, the spectacular record is Lady Gagaâs third consecutive chart topper following in the footstepâs of 2008âs âThe Fameâ and 2011âs âBorn This Wayâ.
Gaga brushed aside the second fastest selling album of 2013 and last weekâs number one, Eminemâs âThe Marshall Mathers LP 2â, to take the chart crown.
Thanking her fans, Gaga Tweeted last night: âI'm so happy! ARTPOP debuted #1 on UK Charts today! Im glad you love the music!â
Other new entries on the album chart this week included Celine Dionâs âLoved Me Back To Lifeâ at three, Little Mixâs âSaluteâ at four and The Killersâ career-spanning compendium âDirect Hitsâ at six.
Gagaâs triumph is the 999th Official Number 1 album in the 57 year history of the Official Album Chart.
Robbie Williamsâ âSwing Both Waysâ, JLSâs âGoodbyeâ and Jake Buggâs âShangri-Laâ are all battling it out for the 1000th no.1 this Sunday.
