Katy Perry Ousts Justin Bieber From His Twitter Throne

Katy Perry has overtaken Justin Bieber as the most followed human being on Twitter!

In the last 24 hours, Katy roared past Justin with an impressive follower tally of 46.54million followers compared to his paltry 46.51million.

Katy Perry’s follower surge is mainly thanks to the buzz surrounding the release of her excellent new album ‘Prism’ together with increased activity on the social networking site.

Explaining her social media strategy, Katy told USA Today earlier this year: "I've learned how to ride social media ... I feel like I've learned how to tame that social media dragon.

"When you decide to have a glass of wine, put the phone down. Don't drink and tweet. Don't be self-indulgent. Don't use it just to promote yourself. That's boring."

Back in January, Justin Bieber became the most popular Tweeter after he usurped the previous Twitter queen Lady Gaga.

A diplomatic Mother Monster tweeted in response at the time: "So proud of @justinbieber and all the Beliebers! I'm only happy to see your fans growing in size, you all deserve it!"
