Katy Perry gets all festive with a brand new Christmas song

She's known for her massive hits, 'Firework', 'California Gurls' and 'Chained to the Rhythm', but now it looks like Katy Perry is turning her hand to the Christmas song scene! The 34-year-old singer started off today (15th November) by teasing 'Bout to sleigh in an hour 🎅🏻', before later posting a short snippet of 'Cozy Little Christmas', a brand new original Christmas song!
The pop star posted the short clip to Instagram showing herself sitting in a giant red Christmas present with the caption, 'For all my friends secretly buying their tree already 🎁 SURPRISE! 🎁 Christmas comes early!🎄'.
In the festive new song, co-written by Katy Perry, she sings about one Christmas season she spent with her family in Denmark. And no doubt after a couple of listens you'll be singing along! 'Cozy Little Christmas' is currently only available on Amazon Music.
This new release comes just a few weeks after Katy told fans that she might step back from music, now that she's finished 'Witness: The Tour'. Speaking to Footwear News, the pop star explained, "I’m not going to go straight into making another record. I feel like I’ve done a lot. I feel like I’ve rung the bell of being a pop star very loudly, and I’m very grateful for that."

She went on to explain in the interview, "I love making music, I love writing, but I don’t feel like I’m a part of a game anymore. I just feel like I’m an artist. I don’t feel like I have to prove anything, which is a freeing feeling."

Katy's 'Witness: The Tour' was her fourth in nine years and saw her perform across the world. When the tour ended in August this year and the 33-year-old pop star decided to mark the end of her tour with an 'out of this world' tattoo.
Katy showed off the very detailed planetary tattoo on Instagram, explaining to her fans the intricate design, 'The planet in the middle is Saturn as this journey has taught me many lessons with a few tears along the way BUT I am happy to report a sense of real resilience as we wrap.'
