James Arthur Makes Public Apology Live on The X Factor

James Arthur made a very public apology for his recent behaviour live on The X Factor last night (1st December).

The 2012 X Factor champion sensationally quit Twitter last month after a controversial diss track he recorded aimed at unsigned MC Micky Worthless sparked a furious backlash.

Despite apologising for the song’s lyrics, he landed in more hot water when Lucy Spraggan published angry texts Arthur sent her in response to comments she made criticising him.

Shortly afterwards, he withdrew from all public engagements with his management citing exhaustion.

Returning to the fray performing his latest single ‘Recovery’ live on The X Factor results show, a visibly nervous James took the opportunity to say sorry to the millions watching.

He told Dermot O’Leary: "It's been an amazing year for me. There's been incredible highs paired with some terrible lows. I've made a few very silly mistakes.

"I just want to thank all the people who are still supporting me and especially The X Factor for giving me the opportunity to do my dream job.

"Above all, I'd like to say sorry for abusing my position as an X Factor winner, because I owe everything to this thing." Lifted from James’s self-titled debut album, ‘Recovery’ is available to download from Sunday 15th December.
