Hix surprised during radio show after debut single is played on Love Island

Hix is “absolutely buzzing” after his debut single ‘Hold On’ was played on ITV’s biggest datig show, Love Island.

“To have it featured so prominently is great too. As everybody knows it’s one of the biggest TV shows around, and within the music industry it has turned into one of the key platforms to be featured on, explains Hix.

“These days you want a play on TikTok and a play on Love Island, so to achieve that is a really cool feeling.”

Hix had no idea it was going to be played, he was sitting in the Cool FM studio on Monday for his usual evening show when all of a sudden his phone started to blow up.

“I knew that the Love Island producers had been in conversation with my team, but I had no idea I was just going to randomly appear.

“As soon as my show was over, I raced home to catch-up on the show and see if it was real.

“Sometimes on Love island, tracks get played for 10-15 seconds, but I got one of the big features, roughly two minutes.

“The song ‘Hold You’ means so much to me because it was my debut single, it was the track that got me signed to a record label, and it’s the song that kicked off my artist career.

“It’s also special because it features an incredible local artist Jessica Hammond, hopefully this is the start of many.”

Hix recently dropped his new single ‘Come On Over’ featuring Raphi, and is available to stream now.

You can hear Hix on Cool Evenings from 7pm-10pm!
