Ed Sheeran Beaten To 'Weird Crush' Title By Matt Richardson

Ed Sheeran has been pipped to heat Magazine’s ‘Weird Crush 2014’ title by Xtra Factor presenter Matt Richardson.

Voted for by readers of heat magazine, heatworld.com and listeners of heat radio, the annual Weird Crush accolade honours the planet’s most unconventionally sexy men who have ‘an indefinable twinkle in their eye rather than a sculpted, glistening torso.’

After making his debut at number 10 last year, Ed Sheeran has climbed to the lofty position of no.2 on this year’s poll.

Weird Crush 2014 winner Matt Richardson now rubs shoulders with previous victors Russell Howard, Derren Brown, Karl Pilkington, Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Osman.

Enthusing about his win, Matt said: “I’m really happy. I really wanted it. A lot of people might be embarrassed about it, but I thought I’m never going to be Torso of the Week, so I’d better win this one.

“I campaigned quite hard, but Matt Edmondson was all like, “I don’t want to win it,” and then started getting everyone to vote for him on the radio. But I still won.”
