After weeks of teasing a new song with Ellie Goulding, Calvin Harris dropped his latest collaboration, 'Miracle' on 10th March. The song sees Calvin returning to his dance roots with what is already a huge hit with his fans. 🙌

The DJ previously worked with Ellie on 'I Need Your Love' (2013) and 'Outside' (2014) and told us in an interview that there are: "Three good things about working with somebody," going on to explain she has: "A spectacular unique voice and delivery that can carry a song emotionally, and you’re a laugh!"

Is there a music video for 'Miracle'?

Yes, there is a music video for 'Miracle', the video features both Ellie and Calvin along with some dancers. The video is set across several different locations, starting with Ellie surrounded by a rugged terrain, in the twilight, as a cloudy red sky has flashes of lightning above her.

Calvin and Ellie have also released a lyric video which features the words to the song, over the image of a running man silhouette.

When was 'Miracle' released?

The song is out now! Calvin announced on 6th March that 'Miracle' will be released on 10th March. The singer had teased the song for weeks, and shared a video of him playing the new song on stage to thousands of fans bouncing to the new tune.

He told his Instagram followers: 'Miracle is coming this Friday!', he then added in a comment: 'Are you readyyyy'. (sic) Of course it wasn't long before fans responded to the DJ leaving comments such as: 'HELL YES!!!!!', and 'Been ready for a long time🙌🔊🎶❤️🌈'.

What is Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding's new collab called?

As mentioned previously, the new song is called 'Miracle'. Calvin announced the name of the song subtly by sharing a video of Ellie in the church singing. He tagged the song name in the video and captioned his video: 'Wow @elliegoulding plus 900 year old church acoustics 😳 New one is on the way!'.

Ellie also shared the same video with the caption: 'MIRACLE✨ @calvinharris'.

When they announced the song's name, fans and fellow DJs commented on the video with Diplo calling them the 'dream team' and Alesso saying it: 'Sounds amazing!'.

Another fan wrote: 'You simply cannot beat this. The content, the mystery, the history of you two. This will go down in the history books as the song that changed consciousness.'

What does the new song sound like?

Before sharing the clips above, Calvin posted a short video on social media, leaving fans very excited. In the clip Ellie can be heard singing: "When you hold me, there's a place I go, it's a different high, oh no, when you touch me, I get vulnerable in a different life, oh no."

After posting this video fans were left very excited to hear the full song. Ellie commented on the video with heart-eye emojis saying: '😍😍😍', to which a fan replied: 'can’t waitttt 🔥🔥🔥' (sic) and another said: 'the duo is back! 🔥'.

Following the acoustic preview inside a 900-year-old church, Calvin played the song at a gig in Argentina and sent fans wild when the beat came in. He also shared the video on Instagram telling his fans: 'Feels so good to play Miracle! It’s coming very soon! @elliegoulding'.

What is the BPM of the new song?

Calvin and Ellie's new song is a banger! The song's BPM (beats per minute) is 143 according to the clip Calvin shared, which means it's very fast, but we love it.

How did Calvin announce his new song?

Back in January, Calvin shared a photo showing himself with Ellie, dressed in black, holding some headphones and smiling at the camera. He captioned his photo: 'Back in studio!! It’s time for the third installment of our banging song trilogy'. (sic)

As Calvin mentioned this will be the third time the pair have worked together, with their previous singles 'I Need Your Love' (2013) and 'Outside' (2014) both reaching the Top 10 in the UK.

'Dance wiv Me' - Dizzee Rascal featuring Calvin Harris and Chrome, 2008

After releasing his debut album 'I Created Disco' in 2007, Calvin and Dizzee met at a festival that year. Dizzee had been a huge fan of 'Acceptable in the '80s', and the pair discussed working together. Calvin said of the collaboration: "Dizzee texted me, saying he'd done this a cappella over someone else's music, but his verse was too good for their music, so could he do it with me instead? So I spent a long time on it, to make sure it lived up to his expectations. I sent him the track, and he called me at 2 in the morning to say it was amazing, so I knew it was good."

'Bounce' - featuring Kelis, 2011

Calvin's next major collab came in the form of 2011 summer anthem 'Bounce' starring Kelis. The first single from his third album '18 Months', 'Bounce' peaked at Number 2 in the UK charts after being kept off the top spot by Example's 'Changed the Way You Kiss Me'.

The song also marked Calvin's decision to stop singing on his tracks; he said: "I'll do tracks with people who can sing well – proper artists, proper performers. I can focus on what I'm much better at, which is making music. I'm just not cut out for that role. I kind of fell into it a few years ago – the live show had to happen, I had to be the frontman because I was doing the vocals on the songs. It went all right. I spent a few years trying to get it really properly good, but it dawned on me it wasn't going to get much better. I've taken the singing thing as far as I can."

Calvin said of the song: "'We Found Love,' is the most successful thing I've done ever... It's not strictly a song by me, obviously, it's by Rihanna. She sings it...It was great to work with her... No one could have taken it as far as she did. You can't escape it in America. I've heard it a lot. I've heard it probably more times today than I did when I was mixing it. Which is a good thing."

He said: "With Florence, she was really busy at that time. She was in the middle of a tour and she had like three days to record something, so I wasn't there, anything could've come back. I didn't think she'd do it. She seemed a really unattainable artist to reach for. I think she would've done it if the song was right and the people were right and it was all at the right time."
