Beyoncé and Lady Gaga have both made it onto Forbes Magazine’s annual countdown of the 100 Most Powerful Women on the planet.

The list celebrates the women who have the most impact on life including politicians, CEOs, entrepreneurs, technology geeks, activists and entertainers.

In 17th spot, Beyoncé is the highest-ranking music star on the countdown – a whopping 23 places ahead of her fellow Queen, Elizabeth II!

Forbes wrote: “If there was a single year when Queen B truly ruled the world, this is it.”

The mag went on to justify Beyoncé’s lofty ranking by citing by her $50million contract with Pepsi, the Super Bowl halftime performance, her HBO documentary and her current 55-date world tour.

Lady Gaga is 45th on the list for her Born This Way world tour, charity work, business investment in social adventure Backplane, the ‘body revolution’ campaign and her 37million strong following on Twitter.

Narrowly behind, Shakira is in 45th spot due to her continued international success, appearance on the US version of The Voice and her lucrative $30million Live Nation deal.

Other notable inclusions on the list include German chancellor Angela Merkel (1st spot), Oprah Winfrey (13), Angelina Jolie (37), Ellen DeGeneres (51) and J.K.Rowling (93).
