Husband and wife megastars Jay-Z and Beyoncé have been crowned the most powerful people in music by Billboard Magazine.

Editors at the American magazine analysed factors including revenue earned, market share and innovative fan engagement to calculate their annual Billboard Power 100 list.

Dubbing the couple as the “king and queen” of music, Jay-Z and Beyoncé came in at number one for “leveraging their star power to release new albums in unprecedented ways—Jay Z through Samsung and Beyoncé through iTunes.”

Both of them have also founded their own companies – Jay-Z’s ultra-successful Roc Nation imprint and Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment.

Between June 2012 and 2013, it’s estimated that the couple earned a phenomenal $95million from their joint ventures.

Universal Music Group CEO Lucian Grainge and Red Light Management founder Coran Capshaw came third on Billboard’s third annual Top 100 unveiled at the Emerson Theatre in Los Angeles.

Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun is at no.33, Simon Cowell is down at no.58 and Ryan Seacrest is 62nd.

Christina Aguilera’s manager Irving Azoff topped the very first Billboard Power 100 in 2012 and Lucian Grange came out on top last year.
