Downton Abbey fans were absolutely overjoyed last year when rumours began swirling about a potential film to carry on the story of the families who lived in the great house - and even more overjoyed when it was confirmed to be happening!

Now that we've seen the official trailer, we know that the film is a direct continuation of the TV series, which aired on ITV between 2010 and 2015. Whilst the series finished in 1926, the film will pick up in 1927 - with a visit from the Royal Family to Downton.

King George V and Queen Mary will apparently be taking a trip to visit the family, with Simon Jones and Geraldine James taking on the Royal roles. Ahead of the film's release on 13th September 2019, here are the film's official posters.
