Did Zayn Malik just throw serious shade at Little Mix?
Zayn has been forced to defend himself.
Zayn Malik sent Twitter into uproar after sending out a very cryptic tweet which fans believed to be about ex fiancé Perrie Edward’s band Little Mix.
After writing the message “Love how people feel liberated naked..Read a book liberate your brain", Zayn took the wrath from Little Mix fans who accused him of ‘throwing shade’ at the girls.
The ‘Pillowtalk’ singer’s message comes hot off the heels of the Little Mix girls having to defend their tour outfits, claiming they are not trying to send the wrong message to fans.
Perrie said “We wear what we feel comfortable in. We’re not overly sexy in what we do anyway. We go for sexy/cute. We’d never want to be scandalous.”
Zayn and Perrie split back in 2015 after getting engaged in August 2013, but now the pair have gone their separate ways with Zayn dating model Gigi Hadid.
With the timing of Zayn’s tweet, fans were quick to speculate whether the message was in fact off the back of what his ex-fiancé had said:
After receiving backlash from the mixers, the 23-year-old quickly defended himself claiming ‘this is not shade’, before going on to explain his first tweet.
The former One Direction man then retweeted a fan's tweet to clear things up further, before telling his followers to ‘have a good night.’
It seems it was all a bit of a mix-up!
Zayn will want to forget the drama quickly as his debut solo album ‘Mind of Minds’ is set for release on 25th March, with the video for his third single ‘Like I Would’ set to debut very soon.
