X Factor: Chloe Jasmine’s Mum Insists Posh Accent Is REAL!

The singer has been facing a backlash in recent days

X Factor finalist Chloe Jasmine Whichello has been facing a backlash after footage emerged of her 2006 audition, which apparently showed her without her signature posh accent.

The video, which is no longer on YouTube, showed a 16-year-old Chloe Jasmine in a pink cowboy hat appearing to speak slightly differently to her second audition eight years later.

In the wake of the online reaction, the 23-year-old’s mum Denise Whichello has jumped to her defence insisting her genteel voice IS REAL and a result of elocution lessons from when she was young.

Speaking to the Wells Journal, Denise said: “Everyone is fascinated by my daughter's accent and whether it's fake or not, but it's definitely real.

“When she was about 11, she attended Tina Witham's drama school and had speech lessons with her. That's where the accent comes from.”

Despite struggling in the Boot Camp round, Chloe Jasmine wowed at the judges houses over the weekend with a stunning rendition of ‘Over The Rainbow’.

She is now part of Cheryl’s final three alongside Lauren Platt and Stephanie Nala. Another act will also be competing for the wildcard place this weekend.
