Saturday's episode of The X Factor has come under scrutiny after it showed a contestant storming the audition room.

Kirsty Murphy, who had been waiting all day in Manchester, 'broke in' to the judges room where an audition was in progress.

"It was a long day of auditions and I had been there since the morning," she explained after the incident.

"It was nearly midnight and one of the team said that unfortunately there was no time to see me today."

When she saw the sign for the ‘Judges Room’ Kirsty thought "this was my chance" running through the door.

Taking the judges by surprise the 21-year-old burst in saying, "I really want to sing to you guys and they say they've got no time".

Surprisingly, despite her abrupt entrance Simon waved her onto the X and told her to sing.

Since the incident Sharon has admitted, “When she first came in I was a bit frightened actually. She walked in and came right over to the desk and I was thinking, ‘Oh my god, alert, alert!’. But she was ballsy! It takes a lot to do that.”

However many of the viewers think the whole event was staged tweeting, "As if security would just let that girl through to the auditions!" and "Could this BE any more set up?".

Even model Sam Reece took to Twitter to voice his opinion.
