What kid doesn't dream of playing a hero? Well A-list actor Nicolas Cage had his heart set on playing Superman, and in the late 1990's it almost happened. In never before seen footage the 'Face Off' actor can be seen trying out moves ready to play the Man of Steel in 'Superman Lives.'
The film was to be directed by acclaimed Director Tim Burton but after a series of script changes and financial setbacks Burton left the project. Eventually in 2001 the film was officially cancelled but in the footage above Cage can be seen preparing for the role.
The footage has been released as part of a documentary 'The Death of Superman Lives.' Watch the full trailer here:
