In a video posted on Facebook, Alfie and Lily were told that an elf had brought them a present.
As they unwrapped the huge gift they're surprised to find their dad, thought to be Scott Lee Stevens, who'd been away working as a Naval engineer for three months.
His wife Ruth tells the excited children that an elf brought him home so he could spend Christmas with them.
The video has over 250,000 views and more than 4,500 shares.
