Ellen DeGeneres has urged people to embrace who they are in an emotional and uplifting acceptance speech during Sunday night's Teen Choice Awards.
The talk show host took home the Choice Comedian award and used the opportunity to urge teens to be "different".
In an inspiring speech, DeGeneres said: "There was a time in my life that I was not chosen. I was the opposite of chosen...because I was different and I think I want to make sure that everyone knows that what makes you different right now makes you stand out later in life. So you should be proud of being different. You should be proud of who you are."
She ended her speech by announcing that it was also her seventh wedding anniversary with Portia de Rossi, who was sitting in the audience.
